Slow start dooms Tidioute girls in 43-22 loss to Fires

A scoreless first quarter turned out to be too much to overcome for Tidioute, as they dropped a 43-22 decision to Forest on Thursday.

Forest outscored Tidioute 14-0 in the first quarter and 21-6 overall in the first half to build a lead they would never relinquish.

“Shots would not fall tonight,” said TCCS coach Christy Valentine. “The girls need to focus on working the ball and being more patient. Tonight was a good learning experience and kudos to the Forest defense.  We have some time to work on our offense before we travel to Commodore Perry next Wednesday.”

Lakin Krouse lef TCCS with five points, while Nakiesha Krouse, Kelsey Nuttal, and Hannah Divido added four each. Nuttall and  Nettie Durstine had 7 rebounds a piece and 2 and 4 blocks respectively.

Forest also won the JV game, 41-8. Nakiesha Krouse scored four points to lead TCCS.
