Tidioute girls topple Erie Bethel

The Tidioute girls picked up a convincing win over Erie Bethel on Tuesday, 40-17.

Nakiesha Krouse led the way with 20 points and five steals for the Lady Bulldogs while Nettie Durstine added another 10 points, 14 rebounds, three blocks and three assists.

“It was nice to get a win on our home court,” said TCCS coach Christy Valentine. “The girls pulled down 45 rebounds tonight and continue to cut down on their turnovers. Nettie had a big game tonight and Nakiesha as well.”

Sunny Henderson also had 10 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs, who return to action in a make-up game Monday against Clarion-Limestone.

Cochranton 68, Youngsville 44

COCHRANTON — The Youngville girls dropped a Region 3 match-up against first-place Cochranton on Monday, 68-44 on the road.

Caitlin Craig and Paige Mineweaser combined to score 30 points for the Lady Eagles, who fell to 3-7 overall and 2-4 in Region 3 with the loss. Craig led the way with 20 points, including a 3-of-5 line from beyond the arc, while Mineweaser added 10 points to go along with seven steals and five assists. Craig and Aspen Flinn finished with three assists each and Kathy Sveda grabbed four rebounds.

Cochranton is unbeaten in Region 3 at 6-0 with an overall record of 10-2.

The Lady Eagles travel to Union City for another region showdown on Thursday.
