Local flooding wipes out high school slate
For the second time this week, weather postponed all high school sporting events involving Warren County schools.
While freezing rain and icy conditions were the culprit on Tuesday, localized flooding in many areas of Warren County forced events to be moved on Thursday.
The unbeaten Warren girls basketball team was scheduled to take on 9-1 Fort LeBoeuf in a battle of the top two teams in Region 6. That game will now be played on Saturday with JV at 1 p.m. and varsity at 2:30. In addition, the Lady Dragons non-region showdown with Mercyhurst Prep, originally scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Wednesday, Feb. 15 (6/7:30).
In addition, the girls basketball Region 3 game between county rivals Eisenhower and Youngsville was postponed and also moved to Saturday. That will feature a 6 p.m. JV start with varsity to follow at Youngsville.
Tidioute’s girls game with Clarion-Limestone was also canceled.
