High five: Knights win fifth consecutive game
Eisenhower rode a 24-point performance from Thomas Warren to a 51-46 Region 3 victory over Iroquois on Monday at Eisenhower High School.
With the win, the Knights evened their record at 5-5 and improve their record to 3-2 in region play. Tuesday’s win was the Knights fifth in a row after an 0-5 start.
“It was a nice win, all the kids played hard,” said Ike coach Dave Allenson. “We scouted them earlier in the year, and they played us better than we expected, so give them a lot of credit.”
Warren scored ten of his points in the opening quarter. The Knights slowly built a lead over the course of the game, leading by as many as 15 points in the fourth quarter before Iroquois was able to chip away.
“We had a pretty good lead early in the fourth,” Allenson said. “We got a little too comfortable and we started turning the ball over and they chipped back some.”
Eisenhower also got a nice game from Jake Harvey, who scored 13 points including three 3-pointers.
Ike also won the JV game by a 36-20 count. Zack Fincher led the victors with 10 points and Ross Venman scored seven.
Eisenhower is back in action today, hosting Sheffield.

ERIE BETHEL 50,
TIDIOUTE 42
Tidioute fell to Erie Bethel on Tuesday, 50-42.
“We had 29 turnovers,” said TCCS coach Terry Cotterman. “We only lost by eight, but when you turn the ball over that many times you’re lucky to even be in the game. I don’t like using the excuse of having young kids, but those are some of the mistakes we’re trying to get rid of.”
Ryan Williams led all scorers with 22 points for the Bulldogs while teammate Jared Veasey chipped in 11.
Tidioute returns to action Friday at home against VisionQuest in a varsity-only game scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m.
