Forest Area hands Lady Bulldogs 45-30 setback

A big third quarter pushed Forest Area past Tidioute in Monday’s girls basketball action at TCCS, as the Lady Fires went on to win by a final score of 45-30.

Forest outscored the Lady Bulldogs 21-6 coming out of the break and Tidioute was unable to recover despite 15 points from Nakiesha Krouse.

“The girls did an amazing job defensively in the first half,” said Tidioute coach Christy Valentine. “I’m very proud of them and we continue to improve each and every game … The girls just simply ran out of steam and had a hard time with ball pressure in the second half.”

Along with Krouse’s 15 points, Hanna Divido and Nettie Durstine helped the cause with 12 and 11 rebounds, respectively. Jasmine Ginnery came off the bench to score 12 points for Forest Area.

Tidioute hosts Clarion-Limestone on Thursday.

Krouse also had a big JV game, scoring 20 points in a 55-26 loss.
