Lady Lions top Erie Bethel in home opener

The Warren County Christian School girls won their home opener against Erie Bethel on Friday, 26-21.

The Lady Lions went 4-of-6 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to pull away in a back-and-forth game.

“We put together many of the things we’ve been working on all year to get the win against a really good Bethel team,” said WCCS coach Eric Swartzbaugh.

Desirae Kerr led the Lady Lions in the win with 10 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks. Emma Marino scored eight points to go along with five rebounds and a pair of assists, Lydia Swartzbaugh grabbed eight rebounds and had five assists, McKenna Phelps had seven rebounds and two assists, and Rachel Brenner had four points and five rebounds.

WCCS hosts Faith Christian on Monday.
