Dollar General in Sugar Grove

Why should anyone be entitled to a government-sanctioned monopoly based on how long they've been in business? That is the question I ask anyone who signs a petition to stop another business from entering. Adapt or die - competition is the American way.

actually back in the 80's NY state troopers were pulling over NY cars upon their return to NY state and charging them taxes for what ever was bought in PA. I remember the uproar it caused.

Hey MLS we do it at the border looking for untaxed Cigarettes all the time. A lot of people get caught. As my wise old grandma used to say "takes one to know one" you must be and idiot and a moron.

Just came upon this! Countingthedays! you are an IDIOT! Did NY ever post state police at the NY PA line when we had a thriving mall? NO!!!!!!!!!!! And back when we had a good mall there were almost just as many NY vehicals in the parking lot as PA! Their mall sucked then, plus at that time they still had tax on clothing! If you live in PA and want to travel to NY to shop..pay HIGHER taxes, so be it...we would never stop them from shopping here and paying LESS taxes now would we? uhh...NO because reguardless where they are from they pay PA taxes and it goes to our state! MORON!

Why would they? Other than for alcohol, what good is shopping in NY?

We need to post the state police at the New york border to make sure that PA residents do not go to new york and spend money and bring merchandise back to Pa without paying Pa sales tax on taxable merchandise.

Board purposefully misreads the law to issue a denial. What a crock.

If residents can start a petition to stop a business, then I think it is time to start petitions to have a business or organization run out of town if they do not meet with the approval of the residents.
