WATERFORD-The Lady Dragons' volleyball team opened the season going 7-3 at the Fort LeBoeuf Tournament on Saturday.
Warren began the morning session with losses to General McLane, 19-25, and Fort LeBoeuf, 12-25, before defeating Villa Maria by a score of 25-7.
Play picked up in the afternoon with the Lady Dragons defeating Conneaut 25-20 and 25-15, Harbor Creek 25-22 and 25-14, and Bradford 25-19 and 25-17 to qualify for the playoff round.
Warren jumped out to a 17-11 lead against Shenango before losing by a final score of 22-25.
Paige Wilson had 31, kills, five blocks, five aces, and 22 digs to lead the Lady Dragons. Megan Wortman chipped in 21 kills and three aces, Haley Tuller had 10 kills and three blocks, Kaitlin Sedon had 11 kills, two blocks, and 24 digs, Ashley Barker had 77 assists and six aces and Jennifer Daugharthy had eight kills.
Teah Bines tallied 42 digs and six aces while Bailey Dilks had 17 digs and six aces.
The host Bison, who finished second in the state in Class AA last season, defeated Corry in the finals 25-20 and 25-5.
The Lady Dragons host Mercyhurst Prep on Thursday for their first official game.
