New bleachers, refinished floor.
The gymnasium is receiving an overhaul as part of the renovations at Eisenhower Middle High School.
It will be ready for the start of school, and physical education classes will be held in the refurbished space.

A worker from S & S Flooring drives a floor sander in Eisenhower Middle High School gymnasium, taking a thin layer of wood and finish off the top in preparation for refinishing.
However, spectators will not have good places to sit. The bleachers will not be in place.
"We added extra seats after the fact," Director of Buildings and Grounds Services Dr. Norbert Kennerknecht said. Those seats will be installed between Tuesday, Sept. 16 and Friday, Sept. 26.
During that time, the gym will not be available for interscholastic events.
That concern has already been taken care of.
The Knights volleyball team only had one home match scheduled for that stretch - on Sept. 18. That schedule has been changed and the Knights will play at Maplewood on that date. The Oct. 14 Eisenhower-Maplewood match originally set to be an away game for the Knights has also been switched and will be played at Eisenhower.
The junior high girls basketball team also has a clear schedule for that time. According to the current schedule, the team has three away games in that span.
Practices have and will continue to take place at Eisenhower Elementary School's multi-purpose room and the Warren YMCA.
The lack of seats will move one other event.
The homecoming football game is Sept. 12 against Iroquois.
"We're going out to the football field for the pep assembly," Principal Kelly Martin said. "The kids are excited about it."
The homecoming dance will be held in the cafeteria - a change that was under consideration before officials knew the gym would not be available, Martin said.
