While most townships offer a spring clean-up day to their residents, Watson Township has elected to provide one in the fall as well.
According to Sandra Kick, township secretary, the supervisors at their August meeting set the clean-up day for Saturday, Oct. 4 for township residents and camp owners at the Watson Township Community Building from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The township will charge $5 for each vehicle load brought to the clean-up, but there are some restrictions on what they will accept.
"The township cannot accept hazardous materials, propane tanks, batteries or solvents. Tires will be collected; a fee of $2 for each passenger size tire and a higher fee for larger size tires," Kick reported. "Electronic items will be collected. A list of acceptable electronics is listed at the outside township bulletin board."
Also at the August meeting, the supervisors scheduled fall road inspection for Saturday, Oct. 12. They will meet at the community building.
The next meeting of the supervisors will be Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
