DUNMORE, Pa. (AP) — A northeastern Pennsylvania hotel remains closed following a carbon monoxide leak that sent more than two dozen people to the hospital for treatment.

Officials in Lackawanna County said more than 200 people were evacuated after a furnace leak was discovered at the Best Western Hotel in Dunmore at about 9 a.m. Sunday.

Hospital spokeswoman Westyn Hinchey told The (Scranton) Times-Tribune (http://bit.ly/1pXFz4G ) that 24 people were taken to Geisinger Community Medical Center. She said one was transferred to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the rest were treated and released, as were five other people at Regional Hospital in Scranton.

Fire Chief Christopher DeNaples said the hotel will remained closed until further notice. A representative of the hotel chain said staff members are relocating gusts and canceling reservations.
