The Kinzua Sluggers 8U travel baseball team went 4-1 this weekend to finish second at the Corry 8U Coach Pitch Baseball Tournament at the Beaver Baseball Complex in Corry. In pool play, the Sluggers won 16-2 over Harborcreek, 15-5 over the Corry Screwballs, and 14-3 over the Erie Buccaneers. The Sluggers then defeated the Fort LeBoeuf Bison All-Stars, 17-8, in the playoff semifinals, and then battled the Erie Outlaws into extra innings, losing 9-8 in seven innings in the championship game. Team members, from left, in front, include Matt DeSimone, Johnny Palmieri, Tommy Nyquist, Braylon Barnes and Chase Sitler and, in back, Brady Berdine, Eric Dippold, Luke Becker, Owen Becker and Owen Blum.
