The Sugar Grove Borough Council is inviting the community to a town meeting at the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department building on Aug. 18 at 7 pm. The council would like community input on the future of the Sugar Grove Elementary School facility.
Music and Movie in the Park
“The Flock” (pictured here) provided a concert in the Sugar Grove Park on Friday night, July 25. The band also played on Saturday at the Chase Car Care Cruise In. More than 150 people came out to hear the music in the park. The Flock is a youth Christian Band from the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church. Band members are Katie Enos, Kara Coffaro, Jacob Hoffman and Jesse Short. Missing from event was Ricky Zortman. Following the music, the movie “Man of Steel” was played on an inflatable movie screen in the park. The event was presented by the Sugar Grove Borough Council and the Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry. The Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department provided cotton candy and popcorn for the night in the park.
On Aug. 23 Chandlers Valley will be holding its 3rd Annual Valley Outdoor Festival.
Admission to the fun day is free and food vendors, craft vendors and music will be on site. The Sugar Grove Free Library hosting this year's Summer Reading Program, "Fizz! Boom! Read!" with great books, fun prizes and exciting activities. Sugar Grove Library cardholders register in person at the Library. Children and teens who complete six hours of reading receive prizes and an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing. Earn extra entries by submitting bonus logs.
Last day to turn in Reading Logs will be Thursday, Aug. 7.
Grand Prize drawing will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 2:30 p.m., followed by the Lights! Camera! Action! presentation. Participants must be present to win.
Lottsville Heritage Day
Lottsville will soon celebrate its 200th birthday . The community invites you to come to this year's celebration on Sept. 13, beginning at noon. The event will be held at the Freehold Township building in Lottsville. Bring a dish to pass, see some friends you haven't seen for a long time. Help support our program by bringing an auction item.
New this year will be the launching of Chinese lanterns in memory of a loved one. If you wish to remember your loved one, a fee of $5 will be due on the day of the event.

The Community Lunches in the area continue to be well attended. All lunches begin at 11:30 a.m. On the third Wednesday of the month at the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church located in Chandlers Valley. Everyone is invited to attend.
The Chandlers Valley Community Center, a nonprofit organization at 6250 Jackson Run Road, will hold a Flea Market every third Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Sept. 20.
There will also be food and refreshments available for purchase.
Day Camp started in June and will run through mid-August. The Sugar Grove Free Methodist Summer Day Camp Program is always accepting registrations for the 2014 summer. The Day Camp offers different options - full-time, part-time, or drop-in day care services or weekly camp enrollment. The Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church has been granted a license by the State of Pennsylvania for day care services. The Summer Day Camp facilities, program, and staff meet all state regulations for a licensed day care.
