Robert Thayer Brumagim, 82, of Newburg, PA, died on July 28, 2014 in his home after a long battle with throat cancer.
Bob was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on January 13, 1932, the son of Ivan Stanley and Alice Somers Brumagim (both deceased) of Warren, PA. He graduated from Warren High School in 1949 and continued on to receive a BA degree from Gettysburg College and a BS degree in mechanical engineering at Penn State University.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a mechanical engineer for a number of companies including Foster Wheeler and Struthers Wells, and the U.S. Government. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golf, camping, fishing and most activities under the sun.
Mr. Brumagim is survived by his loving wife, Elsie Emilie Hansen Brumagim, his three sons, Alan, residing in Lake Ariel, PA, Tom, residing in Frankfurt, Germany, and Matt, residing in Long Island, NY, a stepdaughter, Stephanie, a stepson, Charlie, his brother, William H. Brumagim, of Raleigh, NC, and his cousin, Carol Somers Wilson, of Hilton Head Island, SC.
A service celebrating his life and honoring his memory will be held at a later date.
