Times Observer

On Saturday, Aug. 2, during Pleasant Township Day, members of Pleasant Community Church will hold a yard sale, baked good sale and hot dog and drink sale to support their upcoming mission trip to Ecuador. The team will travel to Cayambe, Ecuador, Aug. 4-11 to help construct an orphanage and to assist a local congregation with their vacation Bible school program in which 300 children participate. The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and people are asked to make offers on the sale items. The church is located at 673 Pleasant Drive, across from the Warren Manor Nursing Home. Pictured are six of the nine team members going to Ecuador: Nancy Swanson, Kathy LaCaze, Michael Poindexter, Shelly Poindexter, Whitney Poindexter and Riane Winslow. Not pictured are Josiah Poindexter, Mike Zurkan and Brianna Winslow.
