Phase One of Streetscape in Youngsville Borough is now essentially complete.
The last major element of the project, street lights, were installed earlier this week.
"I believe this is the final installation for Phase 1 of Streetscape," said Borough Secretary Jolean Ishman. "There still may be some loose ends to tie up with completely finishing Railroad Street but the bulk of the project is now finished with the lights being installed."
Paving work will also be underway in the borough in the coming weeks.
Borough Council last week approved a bid from Union City-based Russell Standard in the amount of $52,541.89 for the resurfacing of 4th and 5th streets in the borough.
Councilman Steve Morris' motion sought to approve the bid contingent upon approval from PennDOT.
Russell Standard was the lowest of four bids received for the work. Closest was Kingsview at $52,937 with Wilson Excavating, $59,860.88, and IA Construction, $61,012.80, were considerably more expensive.
The motion was approved unanimously without discussion.
Borough Secretary Jolean Ishman said on Thursday that no additional paving is planned in the borough this summer.
