CORRY - In what could be a Warren County Senior American Legion Baseball League first, two teams advanced to the championship series with only one playoff game contested on the field.
Corry Northwest Savings Bank defeated Youngsville Post 658, 6-3, while Post 135 was forced to forfeit their game against top-seeded Blair due to only having seven players available for Friday's first round.
Blair (9-3) will host the Bankers (8-4) in the first game of the best-of-three series Sunday at Old Legion Field in North Warren.
Youngsville struck first in Friday night's game at The Ballpark in Columbus thanks to an RBI single by Kyle Hunt that scored Jake Marino.
Corry's big inning came in the bottom of the second when the Bankers pounded out five of their nine hits en route to a four-run outburst. Dillon Silvis highlighted the rally with a two-RBI single.
Post 658 answered with one run in the top of the third on another run scoring single off the bat of Hunt, but Corry plated two more in the sixth to stretch the lead to four.
Youngsville's final run of the game - and the season - came when Ryan Williams led off the the seventh with a base hit and came around to score on three straight walks.
Hunt had two hits and two RBI while Williams and Thomas Henry each added two hits of their own.
Ethan Brown drove in three runs for Corry and Silvis had three hits with two RBI.
