Summer Reading program will began on Monday, June 30 from 10:30 a.m. to noon for kids age 4 to 8 years old. Teacher Molly Chapman will be offering a program of music, crafts, books and promises lots and lots of fun for your child. This program will also be held on Mondays, July 7 and July 14.
Gary Rothrock is the new owner of Peterson’s Hardware. He’s shown with Pete Peterson, who sold store to Rothrock after being owner for 41 years. Rothrock will continue to offer the same items and keep the same name “Peterson’s Hardware” and Pete will still be there to welcome the old and new customers.

Kids playing on the playground during the Sheffield Township Playground Program which runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with supervision all day long.
Movie night was a huge success. The movie "Jumanji" was watched by around 65 people and it is hoped that this can be done again in August.
Fall sports registrations are now being taken at the office at the SAMSHS. Cost is $50 for varsity sports and $25 for junior high. This includes football, varsity volleyball, cheerleading, and girls junior high basketball.
The office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sports physicals need to be completed prior to the first practice in the fall, which is Aug. 11.
SAMSHS open gym schedule for the summer is: Football: Mon, Wed, Thurs 5-7 p.m.; Girls basketball Monday and Wednesday 7-8 p.m., Volleyball Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon, Boys basketball is Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8 p.m., Fall Cheerleading every other Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. and Wrestling is Thursday from 7-9 p.m.
Yoga class is offered every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Sheffield Lions Den for a small donation.
Boys and Girls Sheffield Summer Basketball Camp
Boys and girls from grades 2 through 7 are invited to attend a basketball camp from July 14-18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Registration fee is $65 by July 1 for the 50 spaces (includes t-shirt, water bottle and basketball), if you register at the door or late registrations if space is available, however T-Shirt, water bottle or basketball may not be included. So pre-register soon! All skill levels are welcome and basketball sessions will cover from the basics to preparation for middle level basketball, depending on age.
Afternoons will be spent doing team building activities along with basketball skills. Children will always be under adult supervision, but will also get the chance to work with the current members of the high school boys' and girls' basketball teams.
Children should bring a packed lunch, as well as something for a morning and afternoon snack- access to water will be provided daily. The menu for the week will be: Monday, taco salad homemade rolls & Jell-o for dessert. Thursday, ham loaf, baked potatoes, vegetable, and brownies. Friday's buffet features grilled ham and cheese sandwich among other entrees and pudding for dessert.
We start the week with blood sugar testing with Esther and Jean from 8:30 to 11:30, Carol, from the Blind Association, will also be here from 10 a.m. to noon to test your eyes for glaucoma. No appointment needed and it's a free service. Stay for a nice home cooked meal at noon. Tuesday 'Try your luck' at the Seneca Allegany Casino, we have reserved a smaller bus to accommodate the smaller than usual group, there is still time to progress to a larger one so call now 968-5667. We will continue to provide this trip monthly for $22. For the ride, you will receive $20 coin voucher and $5 in food from the Casino.

Frosty Chalet Cruise-in
There will be a cruise in at the Frosty Chalet in Tiona on Wednesday, July 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. sponsored by the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. This will be a monthly event on the last Wednesday of each month. Everyone is welcome to come. There will be free soft serve cones and food specials to all who participate and plaques at the end of the season for many categories.
