The annual report of the Warren County Planning and Zoning Office was released recently and shows 233 permits issued in 2013.
In total, including new home construction activity and commercial development, 2013 saw $4,369,521 in new construction value.
The commercial side accounted for $2,019,821 of the total. Among the higher ticket items was a well station in Clarendon Borough valued at $750,000, a telecommunications tower in Columbus Township valued at $200,000, a vehicle repair site in Mead Township valued at $312,000, and an addition to a restaurant valued at $200,000 and a long-term care therapy businessvalued at $425,000 in Pleasant Township.
Last year's report included $1,070,000 in construction value for the Sheetz gas and convenience store in North Warren.
New home construction activity in 2013 in municipalities covered by the Warren County zoning ordinance included two permits in Columbus Township for construction valued at $539,700; one permit in Conewango Township valued at $200,000; two permits in Elk Township valued at $245,000; one permit in Glade Township valued at $250,000; one permit issued in Pine Grove Township valued at $180,000; one permit in Pleasant Township valued at $300,000; one permit in Southwest Township valued at $140,000; one permit in Sugar Grove Borough valued at $450,000; and one permit in Tidioute Borough valued at $45,000.
Of the 233 permits issued last year, only 11 were for single-family dwellings, eight were for mobile homes, 25 were for commercial development, 12 were for permits approved by the zoning hearing board and 177 were miscellaneous permits.
