Blocks made to commemorate closing schools

June 19, 2014
Times Observer

Following its mission to "preserve the county's heritage for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations," the Warren County Historical Society has commemorated the recent closings of some of the local schools. Five elementary schools have recently closed in an effort to save money as enrollment declines. Allegheny Valley, Russell, Sugar Grove and Sheffield elementary schools are closing their doors this year, while South Street Early Learning Center did so at the end of the 2012-2013 school year.
