A man who allegedly attacked his mother and stole her car Tuesday morning was captured Tuesday evening.
According to police, Michael Scott Anderson, 28, Warren, choked his mother, Crystal Anderson, while she was in bed at about 6 a.m., then pushed her to a bathroom floor.
He told her "he would kill her if she called the cops on him," according to court documents.
Anderson then allegedly took his mother's Mazda Protege without her permission and drove off, police said.
He faces simple assault, terroristic threats, felony theft by unlawful taking, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle charges. A felony warrant has been issued.
Police said Anderson was "agitated," possibly under the influence of drugs, and was to be considered dangerous.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Anderson was captured by Sheriff's deputies Tuesday evening.
"Thanks to a Facebook tip, Mr. Michael Anderson has been arrested and is in route to the Warren County Jail," a post on the Warren County Public Safety Facebook page said shortly before 6 p.m.
The capture reportedly took place in the southeastern part of Warren County.
Police said Crystal Anderson was taken to Warren General Hospital for treatment of injuries, including lacerations to her lip and the left side of her head, sustained in the assault.
Tuesday evening, City of Warren Police Detective Anthony Chimenti said that after an individual recognized Anderson on the Facebook page and called 911 to say where he was.
"The state police and the Forest Service closed in on him, and the Sheriff's Office took him into custody on Farnsworth Road near the fish hatchery," Chimenti said.
He added that Anderson was arraigned before District Justice Cindy Lindemuth, and was placed in the Warren County Jail with a $25,000 bond.
