Blaine Richard Jones, 81, of Warren, PA, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at the Warren Manor. Blaine was born October 2, 1932, in Warren, PA, the son of the late Blaine and Sarah Kay Peterson Jones.
Blaine was a 1950 graduate of Warren High School, and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for the US Postal Service as a clerk for 44 years, from which he retired. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Senior Golf League at Blueberry Golf Course. He loved his grandchildren and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gladys Mary Arthur Jones; four sons, Dick Jones, and wife, Mary Ann, of Warren, PA, Robert Jones, also of Warren, PA, Thomas Jones, and wife, Patricia, of Farmington Hills, MI, and Gary Jones, and wife, Melissa, of North Canton, OH; five grandchildren, Justin Jones, and wife, Gail, Kiersten Jones, Cameron Jones, Zoey Jones and Sarah Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Friends will be received on Friday, June 6, 2014, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, and at the Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Penna. Ave. E., Warren on Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there with Rev. Kevin Haley, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow at Hale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, or a charity of choice.
