Warren County’s history in pictures

June 5, 2014
Times Observer

The discovery of the Wetmore stone quarry in North Warren spurred many others around the county, such as this one in Garland. Opened by the railroad to supply stone for the construction of bridges and buildings, the quarries in Garland had tramways that ran along the hillsides from the Pennsylvania Railroad grade and the Brokenstraw Creek.
