Allan L. Johnson, born December 14, 1920 in Kane, Pa, was a lifelong resident of Warren and a recent resident of the Warren Manor. He passed to the Lord on May 24, 2014 after a stroke and long illness.
He retired in 1979 as Assistant Post Master and Superintendent of Postal Operations at the Warren Post Office. A veteran of the armed services, he was a radio instructor in the US Army Air Force and Corps of Engineers during WWII. He was a life member of the B P O Elks #223, American Legion Chief Cornplanter Post #135, Life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #75, and a Life member of the Jamestown Musical Association of American Federation of Musicians Local 134. He was past President of the Warren Rotary Club and a member of the Lakewood, NY Rod & Gun Club, National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 1778, and St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Allan was an avid bowler and golfer and a musician/pianist in the Jamestown and Warren area for over 50 years. A graduate of Warren High School, he was preceded in death by his wife Maxine of 63 years, his Mother and Father Irene and Melvin, and his brother Neal. He is survived by his son David and his wife Eileen of Texas, four grandchildren: Christopher and his wife Heather, Robert and his wife Carrie and Julia in Texas, and Michael in Michigan; and four great grandchildren: Cooper, Sydney, Joseph and Caroline in Texas.
Visitation and services will be held at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc in Warren on Wednesday May 28, 2014 at 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM, respectively.
Burial will be in the Warren County Memorial Park.
