George R. Dyer, 85, a resident of the Warren Manor, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Warren General Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Warren County, George was born on July 2, 1928, a son to the late William Howard and Delila (Thompson) Dyer of Indian Camp Run Rd in Youngsville. George was a gentle soul who will always be remembered for his kindhearted nature and youthful appearance. He was known for the enthusiastic manner in which he approached his artistic projects.
George is survived by a brother, Winford (Toot) and Louise Dyer of Youngsville, 2 stepsisters; Mary (Jay) Follett of Pittsfield and Joan (Warren) Moore of Scandia, a sisterinlaw; Faye (Larry) Hoard of Russell, 3 nieces; Lynn (John) Martin of Irvine, Kelly (Brian) Olsen of Youngsville, Lisa (David) Christ of Jamestown, N.Y., a nephew; Kevin (Sherilyn) Dyer of Morgantown, W.V. and 4 greatnieces and nephews; Reyd (Phil) Defabio, Hunter Martin, Piper and Zane Olsen.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Donald Dyer and a stepmother, Laura Dyer.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Youngsville from 67 P.M. at which time a memorial service will be held. Burial will be at the Westview Cemetery in Starbrick and will be private at the convenience of the family.
