Criminal mischief. Warren-based state police reported that betwen 5 p.m. on May 12 and 5 p.m. on May 5 someone attempted to pry a lock off of a pop machine in front of the Grant Valley VFD fire hall, causing damage to the lock and the machine. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police or the Warren County Crime Stoppers.
Theft. Warren-based state police reported that between Oct. 19 and May 10 someone stole assorted hand tools, power tools and lawn equipment, valued at approximately $1,000, from the area behind a camp at 106 Turkey Lane belonging to a 58-year-old male from West Middlesex, Pa. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.
Charged. Youngsville Borough police said a 15-year-old male student was charged with disorderly conduct following an incident at Youngsville High School on May 8. According to police, the student was being disruptive in class by yelling profanities at staff members and other students and slamming a door while other students were attempting to take an exam. Police said charges have been filed with District Justice Cynthia Lindemuth's office.
Charged. Youngsville Borough police said a 12-year-old male student was charged with harassment following an incident at Youngsville Elementary Middle School at approximately 8 a.m. on May 12. According to police, a parent of a nine-year-old student told them that her son was allegedly grabbed around the throat by the 12-year-old student. Police said a school staff member saw the alleged incident taking place and broke it up. Police said charges have been filed with District Justice Cynthia Lindemuth's office.
Chautauqua Co., N.Y.
DUI. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office reported that on May 11 around 3:29 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on W. Main Street in Falconer for operating without headlights. The operator was identified as Devin W. Powell, 22, Youngsville. Deputies said following an investigation, Powell was found to be in an intoxicated condition and was arrested for DWI. Powell was also found to be operating without a license. He was taken into custody and charged with DWI, BAC of .08 or greater, driving without headlights and unlicensed operator. Police said Powell was later released and he will answer the charges in the Town of Ellicott Court on a future date.
