Physical education teachers Mrs. Darling and Mrs. Linkerhof, are proud to say that Youngsville Elementary Middle School raised $1,085 for the American Heart Association during the "Hoops for Heart" event that was held during physical education classes this spring. This fundraising event helps students learn how to better care for their heart through proper exercise. Donations that were made will benefit children their age and possibly help save lives. The YEMS top student fundraiser was Olivia Reynolds, a first grader in Mrs. Nyquist's class who raised $110. Top fundraising class was Mrs. Hansen's third grade class. They raised $202.
