FRANKLIN -Warren's boys tennis team defeated Rocky Grove, 5-0, on Monday, and completed the 2014 campaign undefeated with a 12-0 record.
Nate Sandberg gave up only three points in his match with Austin Barnett with the Dragon prevailing 8-0.
"With rain coming down lightly, both coaches agreed to employ an eight-game pro-set format with hopes that the match be resolved in a shorter time period," said Warren coach Jeff Bartsch, whose Dragons have on five straight region titles and have had four straight undefeated regular seasons.
Ben Auzou, the Dragons' foreign exchange student, defeated Will Huffman, 8-1. Sealing the Dragon Team Win was Sean McGuinness as he defeated Brody Rodgers by an 8-1 score.
In top doubles, Noah Colvin and Clark Eason refused to relinquish a game as the Dragons prevailed 8-0. Completing the sweep was the second doubles pair of Quinn Boger and Bryce Bauer by an 8-0 score.
In exhibition play, Sean McGuinness picked up a second-match win. The Dragons finish the regular season undefeated and will head into post season play starting on Wednesday this week.
The Dragons are scheduled to play in the Tri-County Tennis Championships held in Sharon.
"There will be over a dozen teams participating in this flighted event," said Bartsch. There will be four separate singles events as well as four doubles events.
"With a large squad, the entire Dragon roster will be utilized into the eight events," said Bartsch. The Dragons are the two-time Tri-County team champions.
On Saturday, May 3, the Dragons will participate in the District 10 Singles Championships held a the Pennbriar Club in Erie.
"Nate and Ben will be entered into the event and should earn high seedings," said Bartsch.
Two more Dragons will attempt to qualify for the main draw by winning qualifier rounds on Saturday morning.
