ERIE - Warren's boys track team had four first-place finishes at Saturday's 29th Annual McDowell Invitational at Gus Anderson Field.
The Dragons' 1,600-meter relay team, essentially, starred for the county in track events - with Kyle Kulka, Ryan Shattuck, Luke Wortman and Tanner Rosenberg winning that event in 3:30.05 by about seven seconds. Shattuck also won the 110-meter hurdles in 15.76 seconds, Wortman won the 300 hurdles in 41.24 seconds, and Rosenberg won the 400 in 51.15 seconds. Kulka was third in the long jump in 21-2.
For Youngsville's boys team, Matt Fox was third in the 200 in 23.40 and Andy Lalwani eighth in the 110-meter hurdles, making the finals along with Zach Ishman. Youngsville's 400 relay team was eighth.
In the girls' meet, the Lady Eagles finished fifth in the 3,200 relay with a team of Kimmie Lindstrom, Leah McCluskey, Leigh Fehlman and Lydia Swartzbaugh. Brooke Messinger was fifth in the 3,200 in 12:39.77, and Swartzbaugh fifth in the triple jump in 30-1 1/2.
"We're starting to switch our focus from these dual meets to post-season," said Youngsville coach John Victor, who added that a district-qualifying performance came from Solomon Clark in the long jump.
