Davis donates art

April 16, 2014
Times Observer

The Woman's Club of Warren is pleased to accept two pieces of art from local artist Mark Davis, pictured, for permanent display in Warren's historic Water's Mansion and the home of the Woman's Club of Warren. Davis, a Warren native and retired Warren County School District social studies teacher, helped establish the Allegheny Center for the Arts (ACA) at 217 Liberty Street (second floor) and is currently the president of the ACA board of directors. He is a current ACA ukulele student with Elissa Davis and a former student of ACA art teacher, Donna Nelson. Davis loves being outdoors, hiking and taking photographs at all seasons of the year. He produced these two oil paintings in the fall of 2012 while on location for a plein air class conducted by Nelson and chose to donate both pieces of art to the club.
