The Warren County School District will be on spring break on Thursday, April 17, Friday, April 18th and Monday, April 21. Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 22.

Sugar Grove Township Supervisor Randy Brown was recently honored by the township supervisors for his many years of service to the township. Randy recently turned over the supervisor duties to David “Pete” Flasher.
of Fishing Breakfast
It's the first day of fishing on Saturday, April 12 and the Lottsville United Methodist Church is hosting a Pancake Breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. The cost is a donation. Breakfast will be pancakes with sausage, scrambled eggs, juices, applesauce, fresh fruit pies, beverages. All fishermen are welcome to join us for breakfast.

The Community Lunches in the area continue to be well attended. All lunches begin at 11:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend any or all of the area Community lunches.
Each month lunch is held on the first Friday of the month at the Mission Covenant Church at the corner of Matthews Run and Jackson Run roads. On the second Thursday of each month at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church located at the corner of Race and Jamestown streets in the center of town. On the third Wednesday of the month at the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church located in Chandlers Valley.
We Are Bookin
The Sugar Grove Free Library will once again hold its 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk on April 26. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the library.
Race time will begin at 10 a.m. on race day and registration will begins at 9 a.m. at the library on Harmon Street. All ages are welcome to participate in the event. The race start and finish line will be located on the corner of the library on School Street.
For the race route, you can contact the library or stop in. The cost to participate in the 5K is $15 if you register on or before April 18. After April 18 the cost to register will be $20. The cost to participate in the 1 mile fun walk is $10 if you register on or before April 18. After April 18 the cost to register will be $15. T-shirts are guaranteed to all entries received by April 11.

Thank you so much to all those in the Sugar Grove Community and surrounding area that came out on Saturday, April 5 for the benefit dinner for Jim Kolenda. Thank you to all those businesses and individuals who donated auction items. There were more than 80 items donated for the event. Jim has been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). All proceeds from the evening will go assist Jim with his medical expenses.
Indoor Garage Sales
The Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Auxiliary is sponsoring another fun Indoor Garage Sale at the Fire Hall on April 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you are interested in being a vendor, eight-foot table spaces are $10. Call 489-7750 Linda York for registration or more information.
American Legion Luck
Shoot and Gun Raffle
Sugar Grove American Legion Post 758 will be having a Luck Shoot at the Post home on Sunday, April 13 starting at noon. Prizes will be steaks, hams, turkeys, and there will also be a shoot-off for pies. Mark your calendars and plan to join in the fun.
If anyone is interested and would like to donate pies, you can do so by contacting 489-7986. This event will also include a gun raffle. Tickets for the gun raffle are $5 a piece and can be purchased anytime at the Legion. The drawing will take place on April 13.
Medical Items Needed
American Legion Post 758 has medical items such as wheel chairs, crutches, portable toilets, and more. They are willing to loan these items to anyone in need of them. Contact 489-7986 if you would like more information.
Easter Egg Hunt
The Sugar Grove VFD Aux is hosting an Easter egg hunt at the fire hall on Saturday, April 19 at 1 p.m. There will be a girl and a boy bike raffle for $1 per chance. Raffle tickets will be sold starting at 12:30 p.m. and the drawing will follow the egg hunt. All children are welcome up to age 12.
The Sugar Grove VFD will be holding a special Easter Bingo on Sunday, April 13. SG Fire hall doors open at 4 p.m. and bingo starts at 6 p.m. The admission is $20 per person to play up to four books.
Mother's Day Flowers
The Sugar Grove Fire Department will be holding a special sale of flowers for Mother's Day. Arrangements are $30 and will vary in types and colors. There are also seven-inch flowering plants available for $20. Orders must be received by May 3. May 10 will be order pickup day or delivery will be available inside the Sugar Grove Borough. Delivery is available to Warren, Jamestown, and Corry.

Still Waiting Concert
The Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church will present "Still Waiting" in concert on Good Friday, April 18 at 7 p.m. The admission is free.
Journey to the Cross
The Sugar Grove United Methodist Church will once again hold a Good Friday Experience "Journey of the Cross" in the SGUM Education building (located in Sugar Grove on the point). Take a self-guided, reflective "Journey" through the final days and hours of Jesus' life. There are 11 stations, offering reminders of his great sacrifice made for us. You may go at your own pace and spend as much time as you wish in the various areas.
The event is open for anyone to begin anytime between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Easter Egg Hunt
Sugar Grove American Legion Post 758 will host an Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday April 19 at the post home. Children ages 12 and younger are invited to attend this special day.
The Sugar Grove Library Book Club will hold its next meeting on Monday, April 28. Debbie Penley will lead us in the study of People of the Book by Pulitzer Prize-winner Geraldine Brooks. This novel follows a "rare manuscript through centuries of exile and war" and is inspired by a true story. Pick up a copy and start reading, then plan to join us at Book Club.
Library week is April 13-19 this year and the library will be offering a Food for Fines project to raise awareness for the local food pantries. Non-perishable items of course.

On May 14, the library will be participating in the second annual 12-hour Warren Gives online donation program. This is matching percentage grant is sponsored by the Warren Community Foundation. The foundation will match a percentage of what is donated to the library.
The library will be open at 8 a.m. with coffee and donuts and will provide hot dogs and fixings from noon until 8 p.m. Please feel free to stop in, eat, and make your donation on the library's computers.
The library received a donation this year to upgrade the computer systems and wanted to donate its older but still serviceable computers to other local nonprofit groups. The Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department will receive two computers and a router. The router was needed to extend the WiFi throughout the hall, one computer will be utilized to electronically record members responding to calls and the second computer will be exclusively dedicated to the fire hall's financial information and budget processing.
