KANE -Sheffield broke out with five runs in the top of the seventh, capped by a go-ahead hit from Zarah Pratz, to improve to 2-0 on the season with a 19-17 win at Kane.
"It's a good feeling," said Sheffield coach Glenn Baldensperger. "We were able to persevere through our mistakes and battle back, and not lose our focus - that's one of the things we've been striving for for the whole season. We stayed behind each other."
Pratz also had a big hit in a five-run fifth inning in the back-and-forth game, and Anna Baldensperger had a triple and a home run that cut an early deficit and got Sheffield back in the game.
"It definitely wasn't a perfect game, but we won and we get to learn from our mistakes," said Baldensperger.
Baldensperger and Abby Cromwell each went 3-for-3, Emily Groves was 4-for-5, Pratz was 4-for-6, and Maddie Fiscus was 3-for-4.
