Akeley United Methodist Women’s group will serve pancakes on Saturday, April 5, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the church on Akeley Road. There will also be scrambled eggs, homemade applesauce, sausage, Angove’s maple syrup and beverages. The price of the dinner is by donation. The proceeds from this dinner will go toward an assortment of local missions as well as UMCOR buckets for flood relief. The Sunday school will have a bake sale during the dinner; homemade goodies will be available for sale as long as they last. Proceeds from this sale will go toward the annual Operation Christmas Child project and more. This past year the Akeley Church sent more than 100 boxes to this worthwhile project that benefits children all over the world. Pictured in the kitchen are Laurie West and Emma West, and Kathy Sears picking up an order at last year’s event.
