Kathryn McKenney, 92, of Youngsville, and formerly of Ambridge, Pa., passed away at Rouse Warren County Home on Friday March 21, 2014.
Beloved wife of Wade B. McKenney of Youngsville, Pa., mother of Janet McCormack of Pleasantville, PA, Arlene Sofranko of Tidioute, PA and Punta Gorda, FL, and mother inlaw of Michael Sofranko, Jr.
Kathryn is also survived by her four grandchildren, R. Brian McCormack of Virginia, Megan McCormack Dodge of California, Michael Sofranko, III of Ohio and Patrick Sofranko of Florida and her five great grandchildren, Madeleine and Maxwell Dodge, Annie and Joseph McCormack and Michael Sofranko, IV.
Kathryn was a lifelong resident of Ambridge and Fair Oaks, PA and most recently a resident at the Rouse Estate in Youngsville, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Katryn and Michael Papinchack (Papinczak) of Fair Oaks, her brother William Papinchack of Fair Oaks and her sister Olga Papinchack of Sewickley, PA.
Throughout her life, Kathryn was artistically and musically talented. She enjoyed designing old world Ukrainian Pysanky Easter Eggs, she was an accomplished organist and seamstress and for many years she enjoyed traveling and square dancing with her devoted husband.
A private memorial service for family will be held at Economy Cemetery, Ambridge, PA at a later date.
The Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Youngsville have been entrusted with all arrangements.
