World Day of Prayer
The 2014 World Day of Prayer Service for the Sugar Grove community will be on Friday, March 7 at Hessel Valley Lutheran Church.
Our area churches all come together and take part in this annual service. Portions of the service will be provided by the Chandlers Valley United Methodist Church , the Mission Covenant Church, the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church, The First Presbyterian Church of Sugar Grove, the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, and the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church.
The Sugar Grove Imaginative Preschool has been serving children of the community for over 25 years. Registration is now open for the 2014-15 school year Pictured are some of this year’s students playing their musical tapping sticks which is re-enforcing their counting and listening skills.
Plan to attend this special prayer service. The special speakers this year will be representatives from our local area ministries in Sugar Grove that are assisting people in need from the OutPost and the SG Food Pantry.
There will be a chili dinner at the Bear Lake Fire Hall on Saturday, March 8 from 4 p.m. until gone. The cost is a donation.
of Fishing Breakfast
It's the first day of fishing on Saturday April 12, and the Lottsville United Methodist Church is hosting a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. The cost is a donation.
Breakfast will be pancakes with sausage, scrambled eggs, juices, applesauce, fresh fruit pies, beverages. All fishermen are welcome to join us for breakfast.
Creative Card Class
Sugar Grove Free Library will hold its next monthly Creative Card Class on Monday, March 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. We will be celebrating spring by creating an Easter card and a versatile birthday card. Cost for the class is $8. Save the date to join us for some creative fun No "experience necessary".

The Sugar Grove Library is hosting a "Bring Your Own Device" Class (BYOD) on March 26. Have problems with your new electronic device your Kindle, your iPhone, your tablet? Need to know how to check out library books electronically? Bring your own device to the library and we can help! Space is limited, so register by contacting the library by March 20 and tell us what kind of device you have. Class starts at 6:30 p.m.
The next Sugar Grove Library Book Club meeting will be held March 31. The book chosen is "Snow Falling on Cedars" by David Guterson. You have over four full weeks to obtain a copy of the book and join the Sugar Grove Book Club. For more information, stop in the Sugar Grove Free Library.

The Community Lunches in the area continue to be well attended. All lunches begin at 11:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend any or all of the area Community lunches.
Each month lunch is held on the first Friday of the month at the Mission Covenant Church at the corner of Matthews Run and Jackson Run roads. On the second Thursday of each month at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church located at the corner of Race and Jamestown streets in the center of town. On the third Wednesday of the month at the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church located in Chandlers Valley.
Everyone is invited to attend.
Planning ahead, there will be no school for any employees for students on Monday, March 10. This is an energy day.
the Big Top
Eisenhower Knight-time Players will present their fourth annual dinner theatre, Thursday and Friday, March 14-15.
Due to continued construction at EHMS, the dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Praise Fellowship Church in Russell.
This year's performance, "Murder Under the Big Top" is a murder mystery written by the director, Mary Passinger. Audience members will have a chance to question suspects and guess who the killer is.
The dinner portion will consist of carnival food including sausage sandwiches with peppers and onions, meatball subs, or beef on wick sandwiches. In addition guests may choose curly fries with or without cheese or one of the Knight-time Players' famous baked potatoes with toppings. The feast will be finished off by a choice of funnel cakes or apple dumplings. Dinners include salad, entrees, dessert, and drinks, as well as popcorn and peanuts.
Tickets are available through the main office of EHMS (757-8878), from any cast member or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets are limited and will not be available at the door. Only $15 for the entire evening.
Eisenhower High School Senior Choir officers Sharon Harrington, Kirsten Beardsley, Brooke Stanton and Kearsten Maine are planning for the choir's upcoming "Broadway Delights". This is always a popular event with the general public. This year the event will be on Saturday, March 8 at Praise Fellowship Coffeehouse with shows at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
This biennial event features Broadway songs sung by Senior Choir, Reflections, soloists and small ensembles with a guest appearance by the EMHS Jazz Ensemble.
Coffee and gourmet desserts will be served.
A limited number of $6 tickets are left and can be purchased in advance by calling the Eisenhower school at 757-8878 ext. 2055.
Registration is now open at the Imaginative Preschool of the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church for the 2014-15 school year. The preschool has been in operation for more than 25 years and is a way to start off any child's education.

The Annual Mr. EHS 2014 Contest was held on Tuesday, March 4. This year's contestants were seniors Bryce Garris, Tre Frank, Jacob Hoffman, Timmy Lange, Ricky Zortman and juniors Ben Harvey, Jarrett Johnson, Drew Myer, and Chris Sanders. Congratulations to our new 2014 Mr. EHS Chris Sanders.
We Are Bookin
The Sugar Grove Free Library will once again hold its 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk on April 26. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the library.
Race time will begin at 10 a.m. on race day and registration will begins at 9 a.m. at the library on Harmon Street. All ages are welcome to participate in the event. The race start and finish line will be located on the corner of the library on School Street.
For the race route, you can contact the library or stop in. The cost to participate in the 5K is $15 if you register on or before April 18. After April 18 the cost to register will be $20. The cost to participate in the 1-mile fun walk is $10 if you register on or before April 18. After April 18 the cost to register will be $15. T-shirts are guaranteed to all entries received by April 11.
