A New House
St. Luke Religious Youth and Parish worked together with raffles, bake sales, car wash, and donations to acquire $3,200 in funds to build a home for a Jamaican family through 'Food for The Poor, Inc.'
They recently received a photo of the completed house, and the grateful family they sponsored.

Ice cream contest
Warren County Christian School recently held its student council-sponsored annual Ice Cream Sculpting Contest. Students are given five minutes to sculpt their creation. Judges then determine the winners based by age category and winners are proclaimed. This year’s winners are: early elementary – grades K and first “Heart”; middle grades – fifth and sixth “Green Monster”; high school – ninth grade “Beach Scene”. To Shave or not
to Shave Fundraiser
A fund-raiser for Pittsfield Community Playground, 258 Dalrymple St.: Pastor Steve Gruver has grown a beard and will shave when there is enough money for the playground or not!
Write in the memo section of your check keep it or shave it to cast your vote. No donation is too small. Your donation is tax deductible. With your help this playground can be built this summer.

Sale at the Restore
Items at the "Restore" are on sale for $2 a bag. Restore the store on the corner of IOOF and Main Street in Youngsville has a large variety of gently used clothing available for winter. Many coats and jeans and sweaters along with other items are some of the gems found at the Restore. A number of toys and games are also available.
Come in and browse and the staff will assist you if needed.
A sale will take until March 8. The Restore Store hours are Monday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Tuesday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; Wednesday 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.; Thursday noon-4 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The proceeds of the store benefit the Branch Fellowship and Love Inc. Ministries.
Soup and Pie Lunch
Saron Lutheran Church is having a "Take Out Only" Soup and Pie Lunch on Friday, March 7. Soups will be homemade vegetable or ham and potato. Pies available are apple, berry, cherry, pecan, or pumpkin. The cost is a donation of $6.
If you are coming to pick up your soup you should be at the church between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Call 563-7850 no later than Thursday, March 6 or on Friday, March 7 call the church at 563-7662.
Valley Bowling will be showcasing the Friends of the Youngsville Library's 7 Raffle "Baskets" through Friday, March 7. You can also purchase raffle chances at Valley Bowling during this time. For a $5 donation you receive a sheet of 10 tickets/chances, or one ticket for a $1 donation.
"We can't thank everyone at Valley Bowling enough for supporting our library," stated Library Director Kristy Wallace. "Not only have the Johnsons encouraged us to display our 'Love Your Library' raffle baskets at Valley Bowling since we started this fundraiser four years ago, they also provide gift certificates as prizes for our K-12 Summer Super-Reader program each year, too. Valley Bowling has always been supportive of our library. We truly appreciate their generosity."
Tickets are still available at the library now through Friday, March 14 and the drawing will be Monday, March 16. This is Youngsville Library's second major fundraiser next to its Annual Book and Bake Sale in September.
The Youngsville Borough Council meeting will be held on Monday, March 10 at 4:30 p.m. at the borough building.
The gals from the YHS
class of 1968
The gals from the YHS class of 1968 are planning to meet, talk and laugh together once a month. The March lunch will be at Perkins Restaurant in Warren on Friday, March 14, at 11:30 a.m. Everyone should have received an email invitation, but just in case the class doesn't have an email address, spread the word to other gals from the class.

The second Lenten Services of Youngsville Area Ministerium that include worship followed by a light luncheon will be held at noon on March 12 at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 343 E. Main St., Youngsville. Pastor Keith Martin will be the speaker.

Love INC Annual
What is Love INC? It is a nationally-based Christian, non-profit organization which reaches out to people in need. Who is Love INC: We are Christians from 19 partner churches uniting across nine denominations. We are governed by a local volunteer board of directors and raise support through tax-deductible gifts from individuals, churches, and/or businesses; we also actively pursue grant opportunities.
Who does Love INC serve? We serve people who live or attend church or whose children go to school in the Brokenstraw Valley. Our boundaries are: north of Sugar Grove, west of Grand Valley, south to Tidioute, and east of Irvine.
How does love INC serve? People in need simply call our clearing-house where a trained-caring volunteer will listen to their story to determine how Love INC can help. (563-3398). Love Inc. acts as the bridge between those in need & the church, agency, or organization that can meet their needs. A few examples are: food, clothing, furniture, household goods, bedding, baby items, help with household chores, repairs, transportation, firewood, and minor outdoor chores.
St. Francis of Assisi said, "preach the Gospel at all times when necessary use words. That is what "Love Inc." is all about, demonstrating God's love in tangible ways to people in our communities.
Saturday, May 10 will be the Love INC 3rd Annual Golf Scramble. The event will take place at Cable Hollow Golf Course in Russell; 757-4765. Registration will be at 8 a.m. Tee Time: 9 a.m. The cost is $60 per person; four-person team-$240.
Prizes- 1st Place team-$500; 2nd Place team-$250; 3rd Place team-free round of golf. Food and refreshments available.
