Forty-two women participated in the Warren Women's Bowling Association's Annual Scotch Doubles Tournament this past Sunday at Valley Bowling Center. The first-place winners were Debby Lucks and Sandy Dumont with a handicap score of 896. Melody Jones and Cindy Jones came in second with a score of 879. There was a third-place tie between Cheryl Wilson and Debbie Dahlrymple and Alice Trantor and Tracy Chambers, each team bowling 864 series. Bonnie McAnallen and Sherry Johnson took the fifth-place honors with a score of 809 for their series.
This was the last tournament for this current bowling season and the Women's Association Annual Banquet and Membership Meeting will be held on May 19 with Valley Bowling Center hosting the event. Fliers advertising this event are being prepared and will be distributed to all current members of the Women's Association.

Special Olympics floor hockey
Warren County Special Olympics athletes competed in the eighth annual state floor hockey tournament March 1 and 2 at Bald Eagle Area High School. There were 414 athletes from around the state of Pennsylvania competing in team and skills competitions. Ten Special Olympics athletes from Warren County competed in a skills competition and the results are as follows: Gold medals—Kyle Burge, Mike Gray, Tina Hoffner, Marshall McCumber; Silver medals—Brian Albaugh, Shawn Albaugh, Gary Walton, and; Bronze—Rick McKee, John Pearson and Shirley Petko.
