Members were saddened to learn of the passing of member, Ruth Gerus. A donation to Tidioute Community Charter School Music Department was made in the memory of Ruth.
Letters Of Interest
Tidioute Community Charter School has announced the time frame for Letters of Interest.
The time period starts March 1 for the upcoming school year.
There is no tuition, and busing is provided for students in grades K-5 through grade 12.
The school offers all-day kindergarten for 4- and 5-year-olds.
Registration open house for K-4 and K-5 will be on Monday, March 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Illegal use of dumpster
It has been discovered that unauthorized individuals are using the Tidioute Health and Dental Center dumpster in the parking lot to get rid of their personal garbage.
This is to serve notice on those specific individuals, that charges will be filed and you will be prosecuted.
Tidioute Lions Club
Tidioute Lions Club is seeking new members.
Only requirement is that you be age 18 or older and willing to volunteer a few hours to help community projects such as recycling.
Tidioute First United Methodist Church will be holding their Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on Tuesday, March 4 from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. or they run out of food.
Cost is $ 5 per person.
Members of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Post 8803 will be hosting a Chinese Auction on Saturday, March 8, to coincide with the Chili Cook-off.
Anyone wishing to donate items for the auction can either leave them at the Post Home or call Barb Downey at 589-7508 or Bev Stotler at 484-3549 to arrange for pick up.
Proceeds from the Chinese Auction will benefit cancer research.
Baseball Sign Up
Little League baseball signup for Boys and Girls ages 4 to 18 will be held on Saturday, March 1, at Buccardo's Restaurant from 10 a.m. to noon.

St. John Church Ladies Guild will be selling homemade potato and cheese and potato and sauerkraut pierogi every Saturday beginning March 8, 2014, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. and ending April 12, 2014.

Tidioute Area Health and Dental Center is now doing Lab Draw from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesdays at the medical center.
Walk-ins for medical patients are welcome from 8 a.m. till 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Members of Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary is taking orders for T-shirts, Long Sleeve T-shirts, Sweatshirts and Hoodies.
All items are pre-paid and can be ordered by contacting Anita Nicholson at 484-1009.
Prices are T-shirts $12 ; Long sleeved T-shirts are $15 (adding $1 for 2XL and 3XL); Sweatshirts are $18 and Hoodies are $25 (adding $2 for 1XL and 2XL)
Tidioute Annual Health Fair will be held on Saturday, March 29, from 7 a.m. to noon at Tidioute Fire hall.
Warren General Hospital Staff members will be on hand to draw blood for the comprehensive blood testing, this is a 12-hour fasting blood test.
This comprehensive blood test will include tests for heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, thyroid function, anemia and liver disease.
Cost is $40 per person. An A1C test, which shows blood glucose over a 2 to 3 month period, can be taken for an additional $10.
Men have the option of a prostate cancer testing for an additional $17.
All appointments must be made by calling Marty Bennett at 484-7372.
There will be lots of informational and interactive displays.
Several free screenings will be available during this time frame such as blood pressure.
Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament will hold an auction on Saturday, March 15, at 3 p.m. at Buccardo's Restaurant.
Doors will open at 2 p.m.
Proceeds benefit the upcoming tournament that will take place Thursday, Sept. 25, to Sunday, September 28.
All tournament events are open to the public.
There will be an Adult Dance on Saturday, April 21, from 9 p.m to midnight at the Tidioute Firehall.
Have Fun With It, by dressing up if you wish or dress in your favorite decade or have a Toga party.
Snacks will be available.
Music will be provided by the "Brown Boyz."
Cost is $10 per person.
This dance is a benefit to raise money for a People To People trip to Harvard University this summer for Allyvia Morgan, daughter of Chris and Monica Morgan.

Chili Cook Off
Tippy Canoe Inn held their 10th Annual Chili Cook Off on Sunday, Feb. 23, with 26 entries. There were 20 entries in the regular chili category and 6 entries in the hot category.
First Place winner in the Regular Category was Leslie Hanisak with a tie for Honorable Mention between Eb Kinter and Wendy Jamieson.
First Place winner in the Hot Category was Matt Stek with another tie between Ella Johnson and Bob Fath.
Once again Connie Cotterman wowed everyone with her famous cornbread; she is no doubt their "Cornbread Queen".
All participating entries received a Tippy Canoe Inn T-Shirt. The two first place winners won Gift Certificates.
Judges were Alan Hall, Skip Weilacker, Brian Rhodes and Vern James.
There will be a Tidioute Sports Boosters meeting on Tuesday, March 4 at 7 p.m. in the sixth grade classroom.
All Community members are welcome to attend whether you have children in school or not.
Ice Cream Social
Tidioute Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8803 treated the Tidioute Community Charter School Students in grades K-4 through grade 6 to an Ice Cream Social.
The students had held a contest to see which class could bring in the most items for the auxiliary's Military Troop Box Program. Second grade won with the most items.
These items and the many Christmas Cards signed by the students were sent to our troops at Christmas time.
A Thank You note was read from one of the recipients of the Troop Boxes.
Auxiliary President Doris Svitek explained the duties and obligations of the auxiliary.
Beverly Stotler, Patriotic Instructor did a presentation on Flag Etiquette and the history of "Taps" and when they are used.
Mary Naber, Senior Vice President and Barb Downey, Historian assisted with the Ice Cream Social.
US Flags and Buddy Poppies were given to each student and teacher.
