Meriting recognition

February 19, 2014
The Times Observer

Warren County School District Counselor Betsy Sobkowski presents Aaron Borger with a National Merit Scholarship finalist certificate at Warren Area High School on Tuesday while Assistant Principal Jim Evers looks on. National Merit Scholarships are awarded by the non-profit National Merit Scholarship Corporation based on students' fall junior year PSAT test results. Less than 1 percent of scholarship applicants, about 15,000 students nationwide, make it to the finalist round for the awards. Approximately 8,000 finalists will be awarded the scholarships. The winners will be announced between March and mid-June.
