The Warren County Prison Board met Tuesday morning to discuss some needed upgrades to the county jail.
Deputy Warden Gregory Deivert told the board that the cement floor in dorm number two of the jail needs to be replaced. Cement in a shower stall and flooring is "coming out in chunks" he said.
An estimate to replace the cement by John Anderson Construction called for $1,200 of work that includes 10 hours of work to jack hammer and replace the cement.
Warren County Commissioner John Eggleston also said the board needs to consider preparing a bid to replace the air conditioning unit in the kitchen of the jail before summer. He suggested the board work to prioritize the items that need replacing.
Deivert also updated the board on the prison work crew program statistics for December 2013. Crews performed 222 hours of community service work in Warren County.
Work crews completed projects for the Warren County Sheriff's Office, the prothonotary's office, the commissioners, House of Hope, Winterfest, the Russell Volunteer Fire Department and at the courthouse.
"The inmate work crews continue to provide valuable community service to the citizens of Warren County," Deivert said.
