Warren Christian Women's Connection held a "Fresh New Year" lunch recently. Table favors were small greeting cards, and decorations expressed hope, love, faith, courage and belief.
Speaker Kathy Holden from Bradford told of growing up in a non-denominational Christian neighborhood. As Christians, the neighbors reached out to all. She says the Christian Women's Connection (formerly Christian Women's Club) is 75 years old and that the women are just "regular folks." A good way to make new friends is to attend Stonecroft Bible studies and to reach out to community groups as sincere Christians.
Gary Olsen of Warren presented a special feature. He is a member of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) volunteer tax preparers. He said, to have your income tax prepared, you must have photo ID, Social Security card, W2s, bank account information, last year's return, and bank and stock interest, etc.
Music was provided by Cindi McKee and her mother, Myrna Leman. Cindi accompanied on guitar as they sang a childhood duet in which Myrna yodeled, and a Christian song.
Yvonne Lee was honored for her dedication to the Warren Connection.
Debi Sprague read a Stonecroft report on the results of being involved in the Stonecroft Bible outreach programs.
The group meets on the second Tuesday of every month for lunch. It is a non-denominational, Christian gathering. All women are welcome.
