If recent history is any indication, the crowds at this weekend's Warren County Outdoor Travel and Gun Show should be substantial.
The event, inaugurated with little fanfare at a relatively small Starbrick venue just a couple years ago, has grown to one of the most heavily attended events in the county. Organizers estimate that as many as 7,000 people attended the exposition in the Warren Mall last year over its two-day run.
Now in its fourth year, the show promises to attract that many people, and likely more, with about 80 vendors with booths in the mall's concourse and all the available store fronts.
If you enjoy the outdoors, a few hours indoors at the Warren Mall on Saturday and Sunday should get your adventure juices flowing with vendors and displays including all-terrain vehicles, hunting and fishing equipment and guide services, outdoor clothing, cutlery, taxidermy and wildlife art. Basically, if it has to do with the outdoors, it will be indoors at the mall.
Last year, a gun show was added, and proved to be very popular. It will be back.
The Times Observer is proud to be one of the sponsors, a group that includes Ed Shults of Warren, Whirley DrinkWorks!, Warren General Hospital and Ace Oneida Hardware.
If you are an outdoors enthusiast, there will be something in the mall that you'll enjoy this weekend, and don't worry; you won't go hungry, either.
