You couldn't ask for much more out of Tuesday's match between Youngsville and Corry.
The Eagles and Beavers - both undefeated in Region 3 - battled through all 14 weight classes before Corry secured a 39-36 win with a pin in the final match of the night at Youngsville High School.
"I thought our kids wrestled hard. It was a good match," said Youngsville coach Scott Ishman. "Corry is a good team. The 113 and 152 matches could have gone either way; those ended up being the difference tonight. Overall though, it was a good dual-match for us. It went down to the wire."

Youngsville’s Zach Ishman wrestles Corry’s Cody Thomas in the 160-pound match of Tuesday’s Region 3 contest at Youngsville High School. Ishman earned a pin, but the Eagles were defeated by a score of 39-36.
The Eagles were tasked with erasing an early deficit due to Corry receiving a forfeit at 195, pins at 220 and 120, and decision wins at 106 and 113. Jaykup Durlin picked up Youngsville's only points during that stretch with a first-period pin over Corry's Paul Peters at heavyweight.
The match of the night came at 113, where Corry's Parker Curtis and Youngsville's Aaron Melquist battled to a 10-10 tie after an eventful third period. Neither grappler was able to score in the first overtime, and Curtis picked up two points in overtime number two to earn the decision over Melquist.
Despite the loss, the match seemed to light a fire under the Eagles as they rattled off wins in five of the next eight matches, beginning with Chandler Flinn's pin of Jonathan Hammond in the 126-pound bout.
Tanner Burns received a forfeit win at 132, Aaron Hoover notched a pin at 145, and Zach Ishman made quick work of his opponent to pull Youngsville within three points before Jeremy Lyon gave his team its first lead of the night with a pin at 170.
With the score 36-33 in favor of the Eagles, Corry's Alex Suydan gave his team six points and wrapped up the victory with a pin of Stone Sivak in a rematch of last year's 182-pound District 10 consolation final.
With the loss, the Eagles are now 2-1 in dual-matches this season.
Youngsville will try to get back into the win column when its hosts Region 3-powerhouse Fort LeBoeuf on Thursday.
