Theodore "Ted" R. Ol-son, 69, of Greenacres, FL passed away peacefully on Dec. 5, 2013 at the Hospice of Palm Beach County at JFK Medical Center, Atlantis, FL ,after a brief battle with leukemia.
He was born to Clarence and Ethel Lind Olson in Warren, Pa. on Oct. 13, 1944. He graduated from Clarion State College in Clarion, Pa. with a B.S. de-gree in education and from Gannon University, Erie, Pa. with a M.S. in English. For 34 years, he worked in education as teacher, assis-tant principal, curriculum specialist, and area support person. While living in the Warren area, Ted was President of the Warren Barbershoppers and Jay-cees. He also was active in Warren Players as an actor, director, and producer. In Florida Ted was a member of the Benevolent and Pro-tective order of Elks where he was a past Exalted Ruler of the former Lantana-Boynton Elks 2676. He was a current member of the West Palm Beach Elks Lodge 1352. He served as Vice President of the southeast district of the Florida Elks and as the District Deputy Grand Ex-alted Ruler. Ted was preceded in death by siblings Joyce, Carl, David, and Richard Olson and an infant nephew, Justin Sutton.
He is survived by long-time companion, Lin-da Jacobson, of Greenacres, FL, brothers Arthur and John Olson of Youngsville, Pa., sisters, Edith Laurence, Hartwell, GA, Margery Peters, Bear Lake, Pa., and nieces, nephews, aunts, un-cles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday (December 17) at the Saron Lutheran Church, 148 West Main Street, Youngsville, Pa. 16371, with the Rev. Pastor Mark Fischer officiating.
