The Youngsville Ministerium Food Pantry will accept deer meat from hunters, with St. Luke Catholic Church paying the processing fee for the donated venison.
Fr. John Neff said the fee will be paid upon receiving a receipt of the cost and verification from the food pantry that the meat was received.
He said, "There are a lot of hungry families. Let us share the harvest."
All meat must be properly processed to insure food safety, and whole deer or parts of the animals that haven't been cleaned, cut and packaged can't be accepted.
St. Luke Church is located at 420 N. Main St. in Youngsville, and the food pantry is located at the Evangelical United Methodist Church on Second Street in Youngsville. The phone number is 814-563-4351.
The food pantry operates with volunteer donations from the community as well as food from the Second Harvest Food Bank. While located physically at EUM Church, it is a cooperative effort of Youngsville area churches.
Pantry hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
