The reciprocal agreement between the Philomel Club of Warren and the Mozart Club of Jamestown, N.Y., allows both organizations to experience what the other has to offer in accomplishment and musical talent. This month, members and guests of the Philomel traveled to Jamestown as guests of the Mozart Club.
Nancy Palmer, flutist, presented "Concerto in G Major" by Mozart; Rosalind Hupp, mezzo-soprano, sang "Four Songs" in Spanish by Fernando J. Obradors; Joan Eighmey, as well as accompanying other performers, presented a piano performance of "Jeux d' Eau" by Maurice Ravel; and Carolyn Worley, soprano, sang "Sure on This Shining Night" and "Zion's Walls."
On April 9, 2014, the Mozart Club will travel to Warren to present their talents at the "Welcome Northern Neighbors" program.
Philomel performers included, from left, Carolyn Worley, Rosalind Hupp and Nancy Palmer, standing, and Joan Eighmey at the piano.
At 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, the Philomel will hold its member-guest night with a tureen dinner followed by performers Mary Beth Whiting and the Mna Tri Trio (Ann Mead, Vicki Hanson and Joan Eighmey).
