Eisenhower's five-game winning streak came to a halt on Friday night, as the Knights fell to Conneaut, 35-0, in a non-region match at Eisenhower High School.
The Knights (5-2 overall) struggled to move the ball on offense all night, recording 50 total yards. Alex Johnson did most of the work, rushing for 92 yards on 20 carries.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Eagles got on the board four minutes into the second, when running back Elijah Anderton ran in a touchdown from eight yards out. The extra point attempt was blocked, making the score 6-0.

Ike nearly kept the score at 6-0 heading into halftime, but on the final play of the half, Conneaut quarterback Hunter Merritt broke free down the sideline and scrambled 73 yards for a touchdown. A two-point conversion made the score 14-0.
Anderton recorded his second rushing touchdown less than two minutes into the second half, and Merritt registered his second on another long run of 68 yards with 1:33 left in the third, increasing Conneaut's lead to 28-0.
The Eagles would finish off the scoring with 6:20 left in the game, with Anderton rushing for his third touchdown of the game.
Merritt finished with 228 rushing yards, and Anderton added 94.
"I'm unbelievably proud of our effort," said Eisenhower coach Jim Penley, whose Knights remain 5-0 and in first place in Region 2. "We had five starters out, with three or four freshman playing for us. Some of these guys playing in their very first varsity game. (Conneaut) is a Triple-A school that put up 41 points against General McLane. We (being Class A) physically played with this team. We held them to six points until the last play of the first half."
The Knights will look to remain unbeaten in region play when they host Union City next week.
