2013 Youngsville graduate T.J. Hardy was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts and 4-for-4 on extra points in Edinboro University's 43-7 win over Seton Hill Saturday at Sox Harrison Stadium. Hardy booted a 39-yarder and a 27-yarder in the second quarter, and another 27-yarder in the third. The Fighting Scots' freshman accounted for 13 total points, and added four touchbacks on kickoffs.
Tidioute grad Loralee Lindemuth had five kills, two aces, and three blocks in Penn College's three-set loss to Lycoming College on Saturday afternoon. Earlier in the week, Lindemuth racked up six kills and three aces in a win over PSU Wilkes-Barre. Penn College now has an overall record of 4-12 on the year.
Eisenhower's Kelsey Repke tallied 23 digs in Pitt Bradford's win over LaRoche and 22 digs in a win over Mount Aloysius as the Panthers opened AMCC play this weekend. Pitt-Bradford is now 6-11 overall and 2-0 in conference, and will host Alfred University on Tuesday, October 1.
The Kinzua U-12 soccer team defeated Greenville by a score of 6-1 to improve to 4-0 on the year. Devon Navarolli and Luke Smelko each had a pair of goals and Tyler Gustafson and Caleb Lindell added one each. Gustafson also had an assist on the day. Defensive standouts for Kinzua were Mitchell Grosch, John Page, and Ben Berdine, while the team got solid midfield play from Alex Nebinski, Damon Navarolli, and Ryon Flatt. Thomas Bablak earned the win in goal for Kinzua.
Sheffield's home volleyball match against Brockway which was postponed on Thursday, September 26, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 2. The junior varsity match will begin at 6 p.m. with varsity to follow.
The team of Jerry and Mike Bancroft claimed their second Pro Scratch Classic title, shooting a four-under-par 67 Saturday at Conewango Valley Country Club. Joe Nelson and Chris Sundberg tied with Dave Walde and Anthony Pellegrino for second place, each with 68.
Ron Steffey notched a hole-in-one Friday at Cable Hollow Golf Course on hole number 17, using a six iron. The shot was witnessed by Bob Orbanic and Dick Schuler.
