Warren's difficult start to the season continued on Wednesday night, as the Dragons fell to 0-3 with a 4-0 loss at the hands of Mercyhurst Prep at War Memorial Field.
The game was cut short by nearly 20 minutes due to lightning.
It didn't take long for the Lakers to strike, as they dominated possession throughout the majority of the first half, taking a 3-0 lead into halftime.

Prep grabbed its first goal of the game 12 minutes in, and scored another just three minutes later to make the score 2-0. With 17 minutes remaining in the first half, a Dragons foul in the box allowed the Lakers to score their third goal on a penalty kick.
Simon Smith nearly got one back for Warren with just under two minutes remaining, when he hit a rocket off the crossbar on a free kick.
Warren came out with more energy in the second half, and had several opportunities to steal a goal, the best coming when Quinn Boger had a header hit the post off of a corner kick. The Lakers added their final goal with 21 minutes remaining, just before the lightning delay.
The effort of the Dragons in the second half was a positive note for coach Tom Harrington.
"We came out a lot better in the second half," Harrington said. "We've gotta play a whole game like that, and we haven't done that. We need to get some guys varsity experience, and we need to get healthy, and when that happens we'll get better."
Harrington told his team after the game that he sees similarities between it and his 2010 team, which ended up winning the District 10 title.
"I gave my speech after the game comparing this team to 2010," Harrington said. "That team last a couple of games early, but they were able to gel and get hot at playoff time, and ended up winning the district."
The Dragons will take on another very strong opponent on Saturday, when they travel to Cathedral Prep.
