The Dragons fell 5-0 to the defending AA state champions Mercyhurst Prep Tuesday night at Betts Courts.
"Mercyhurst has a high powered team with plenty of depth," said coach Jeff Bartsch. The Dragons were swept in all three singles matches as well as the two doubles events. "Mercyhurst is a well disciplined team and they are riding a wave of confidence."
"We did play better today than when we played them three weeks ago," added coach John Parroccini. "A lot of the games were deuced and our kids fought hard today in the 80-plus temperatures."

Lineup changes for the Dragons moved Alexis Vavala to the number 3 singles slot where she did record one service hold as Warrens's best effort of the day. Corie Eckman was impressive as she pulled the trigger on several points today. Cassie Johnson played a steady and persistent game and earned some respect on her own courts as well.
"Our doubles pairs were out-maneuvered with good solid tennis," said Bartsch. Top doubles pair was Shoshanna Ochocki and Karly Taylor with Kim Parroccini and Maria Miller as the number two team.
"I was a bit disappointed in that our doubles pairs gave up too much respect to the state champions. But I do understand that the confidence that Mercyhurst Prep displayed had an effect on our girls today," said Bartsch.
